The Coffee Kabin

The Coffee Kabin located just opposite the University of Huddersfield has quickly become my favourite coffee shop. The quirky design of the independent shop is something which drew me in straight away and the taste of the coffee is what keeps me going back.

I normally go for a Flat White or a Latte but the Kabin offer a range of coffee which can be seen above. It’s not just coffee this place serves. They also have Hot Chocolates, Teas, Cold Drinks and they also serve a good variety of food, so perfect for lunch times.

When you first walk into the shop you are met with the warm welcome from the staff and the delicious smell of coffee and fresh baked goods. There are two floors in the shop. Downstairs has the counter and a smaller seating area and upstairs is the main area for seating.
On the wall there are unusual pieces of art. There is the boot of a Mini with a clock installed on it as the main feature piece and then there are smaller pieces which can be bought.  Indie bands such as Arctic Monkeys are played all around the Kabin and this adds to the quirky vibe.
The spacious upstairs is lit up more and makes the room feel productive. There is a large wooden bench area which is perfect for sitting with your laptop and a coffee and ploughing through work.  Next to this are sofas in case you are after a more relaxing time. You can see from the photos that the main theme of the shops is a rustic, woody feel and it works really well.

Back downstairs there is a water station where you can have water on tap and also a cabinet where you can buy products to make the coffee, tea and hot chocolates at home.

If you’re in Huddersfield and are looking for an unreal coffee shop then this is one you’ve got to try, just walk in and Eat, Drink, Relax.
